History is present at every step in Palma de Majorca, but at the same time, the city is viewed as a stronghold of white nights. The magic of the nightly entertainment often extends until dawn.
One of the most romantic places from Majorca is Valldemossa. Its villages are built on natural terraces, which are surrounded by orange trees. Valldemossa in located in the western side of Majorca, in a mountainous area with opening at the sea.
The houses built out of stone, the winding streets paved with the same type of rock, the coquette and intimate shops and its natural beauty; make Valldemossa one of the dreamiest destinations. Chopin and his beloved George Sand spent a winter holiday in this resort.
Numerous couples choose Majorca to get married or as a honeymoon destination. The truth is that this island has something to offer for any occasion. However, it is more romantic than other places from Spain or other countries. Over time, some of the most beautiful wedding pictures were taken somewhere in Majorca.

Bellver Castle (Castell de Bellver)
The Bellver Castle, is a wonderful historical site on the island of Majorca, and located at Camilo Jose Cela, Palma de Mallorca and can be reached at telephone (971) - 73 06 57. Built in the 14th century, and overlooks the town of Palma, is now used as a museum by the Majorca tourist authority.
Once parking the walk to the castle is very long, so bring your walking shoes. And bring plenty of drinking water, as there are no snack bars, or drink stalls anywhere immediately near the castle.
The best time to visit the Castle is when they hold a symphony concert within its walls, its best to contact the phone number above to find out exactly when. Make sure also to ask when the castle is open to visitors, and when the best time to go is.
It is a quick trip, so plan on visiting the town below a well on your journeys. It only takes a small while to stroll around the entire expanse of the inside of the castle. The cost of entrance is 4 euro per person the last time I checked, but again its best to call ahead. Why go if there are no drinks, or snacks, and it only lasts about a half hour?
Well, the view from atop the hill the castle sits is amazing, and a great place for that superb holiday photo shoot. Some reviews online will tell you not to bring the kids, but what kid doesn’t want to see a real medieval castle. I recommend this attraction for any family, with kids in the teen years of age.
From the top you can also see some of the best Villas in Majorca the Island has to offer too.

Pearls of Majorca
Real pearls are formed inside molluscs,
and many times are ill-shaped, and have flaws. The pearls created on the island
of Majorca, are man-made and flawless. There are many places in the world to
buy a Majorca Pearl look alike, but only one place in the world that manufactures
the real deal Majorca pearl.
That is of course the pearl factory
located in the city of Manacor, Majorca. It is the best place to get cheap,
authentic, Majorca pearls, and a great tourist stop on your island holiday. The
Majorca pearl is a fake pearl of course, but the factory at Majorca prides
themselves on the high quality of their pearl substitutes.
Today the pearl market is flooded by
Majorca look a likes. All posing as true Majorca masterpieces, these fake
Majorcan pearls are poor quality, and there craftsmanship is lacking. At
the factory that bears the name of the fake pearls, the age old process of
creating a fake pearl was founded there.
First they take a high quality glass
ball, and coat it with fish scales, and shells. The end result is uniformed
pearls, ready to be strung on a necklace, or adorned on ones ears. In the world
of fake pearls, you can’t beat the look of these Majorcan masterpieces.
What’s great about visiting the actual
physical place they are made is the discount in price. Many stores worldwide
sell these pearls, but coming here and getting them direct, assures their
authenticity. You will also save a ton in way of price, of necklaces and
earnings.
It’s a fun day trip and a must see
attraction for jewellery enthusiasts. But don’t worry if you think you’ll be
visiting just a factory, they get lots of tourists ever year, and are well
prepared for the rush. Overall, it is a great opportunity to snatch up a
trusted brand of master crafted shiny fake pearls.
If you buy any of this jewellery and
you’re staying in one of the Majorca Villas you can keep it safe while you go
back home.
Majorca in Relation to Your Style
The
specific activities chosen for your vacation in Majorca can be extremely
diversified. You can start your Spanish exploration by visiting the pearl factory
from the Manacor locality. There you are allowed to assist during the
production process of pearls.
Porto
Cristo with its famous Drach Cave is home to one of the largest subterranean
lakes from the world. The lake is called Martel. This might be your second
destination on the largest Balearic Island. Also, visiting Valldemosa and the
Cartusiana Monastery can be as much fun as visiting the museum dedicated to
Chopin and George Sand. Both lived in Majorca in 1838.
If
you really are a lover of landmarks and a fan of monuments, you can safely pay
for a tour of the capital city. The Cathedral that dates back in the 13th
century is imposing because of its columns and lovely because of its stained
glass.
So,
its sight can only be inspiring. The Bellver Castle is not to be missed either.
You can admire the spectacular panorama of the Palma Bay from it. Pueblo
Espanol comprises the most significant Spanish monuments and historical
elements.
Spending
your time in Majorca by doing something relaxing may resume to golfing,
sunbathing or swimming. There are 2 sensational golf courses in Majorca that
are open throughout the year.
These
golf clubs are called the Vid Son Golf Club and the Son Muntane Golf Club. Both
are really close to Palma de Majorca’s centre, and they both have some great Majorca Apartments close by so you don’t have to walk far to enjoy a round of golf.. The
choice is totally yours.
Majorca and its Resorts
Majorca
is part of the Balearic Islands and it is the largest one. It is located in the
Mediterranean basin, between Ibiza and Menorca. An attractive holiday location,
this island is characterized by diverse landforms, numerous bays and costal
regions, as well as mountains that exceed 15 hundred meters (5 thousand feet)
high.
The
most known beach area from Majorca is in its southern part, where you can find
the best equipped beaches. Along the coastline, the resorts are so close to one
another and so intertwined that you can hardly figure out where one ends and
the other begins. The main advantage of this situation is that all the needed
facilities are easy to reach. Bars, discos, clubs, theme and water parks,
restaurants, all are in proximity.
The
first notable resort is situated near Majorca’s capital city, which is Palma de
Majorca. It lies between C’an Pastilla, in its western side, and the Arenal
area, in its eastern side. Numerous German and British tourists spend their
vacations in Playa de Palma. Some of the bars, pubs and restaurants are
oriented in this regard. Playa de Palma, including C’an Pastilla and Arenal are
often seen as one resort, but in facts are not defined clearly enough as
separate ones.
Regardless
of the area you choose for your vacation in Majorca, the possibilities are
endless. Even if you do not know exactly in which resort you are at a certain
point, the main idea is for you to make the most of your leisure days. But bar
in mind that there are many Apartments in Majorca in the resorts the Island
has to offer, and they have plenty of activities that you can do to keep you
busy for your holiday.

Get Around Palma de Majorca
Tourism is the main activity in Palma de
Majorca, so it goes without saying that the local transportation is highly
streamlined. Over the years, the city council took this matter seriously and
they decided to offer short excursion through the city and outside the city in
exchange of a small fee.
If you want to visit Palma without being
stressed by the lack of time, you can opt for a touristic transportation that
crosses the town.
The bus line 50 takes you all over the city in a tour that
last over one hour and a half. The advantage of such a trip is that you can get
off the bus whenever you want in order to explore further. The tickets are
valid for an entire day, so you can get on and off when you want to. The
frequency of the busses is approximately 3 per hour. There are 16 stations
where the bus stops.
The touristic train line 52 is just
seasonal. It is only offered during the summer when the weather is pleasant.
Its route comprises 44 stations and it is available until midnight, so you can
admire the city at night too.
The most attractive options, which are,
at the same time, the most expensive ones, are offer by the taxi companies.
Regardless if it is night or day, they can drive you through Palma de Majorca
on three different routes sometimes even stopping directly at Majorca villas, while they play an audio guide for your convenience.
The price varies depending on which route you choose.

See With Your Soul in Majorca
Majorca is more than a touristic destination or a piece of land with Mediterranean scenery. The Argentinian writer Jose Luis Borges described this island as a place similar to happiness. He considered that Mallorca is worthy of the ideal scenario of happiness and that it is an island that helps one see with the help of his or her soul. However, for the thousands of people who visit Majorca every year, it is still a vacation destination that offers relaxation and combines modern entertainment with traditional habits.
Majorca is a kind of mixture of Mediterranean landscape. Idyllic bays, typical to Greek islands and forests that flow to the beach ensure an enchanting and obscure view at the same time. Elegant mansions, tall mountains and dry areas are charmingly mixed under the golden glow of the sun.
Many conclude that after exploring this island and discovering all its shades and perfumes, they would like to permanently move to the Island in one of the many villas in Majorca or at least they would like to return as the waves always come back to the shore.
As for the locals, in Majorca some of the main occupations are related to art. Its rich tradition in art and traditional handicrafts is widespread. Hand embroidery, carved olive wood, wrought iron, glass objects, palm and raffia objects, artificial pearls, ceramic, handmade shoes and exquisite jewelry are great temptation for the visitors. The most famous artificial pearls are manufactured at Manacor and Flanitx. Purchasing them directly from the producers can help you get a better price than from the vendors.

Majorca: What to expect Weather wise
Majorca is an Island in the Balearic island chain, off the coast of Spain. The island is located in the Mediterranean climate zone; however these islands unlike the canaries have a wet season. The wet, cold season lasts October through February. But the warm season is much more delightful than the canaries; its location couples a high humanity with a not too high summer temperature. What you really get is great weather to truly enjoy your holiday, a light breeze, and no heavy congested air.
Both the islands on, and off season, is great for walking or biking tours. The west coast of Majorca in particular is great for walking tours, for you or your whole family to enjoy. March and April seem to be the best months, to experience the best of Majorca’s weather.
The light breeze during these peak months are the best, and help keep that “not too high summer temperature” I mentioned earlier, down. The islands climate also helps its beaches water become a tad warmer than other Spanish island chains (primarily I mean the canaries). For whatever dips in temperature the islands winter creates, it makes up for with its near perfect summer weather.
But don’t get me wrong, as with any tropical paradise, the weather can sometimes be unpredictable but this is where Majorca villas come into play. If you like variety and are willing to take a risk, Majorca weathers many moods can be invigorating to that spontaneous holiday.
It is said however, it can get a little cold and wet during the winter months, so be prepared if that’s when you will be going. Overall Majorca is pleasant during the spring and summer, and for those who like a vacation off the beaten path, then choose to go there during the rest of the year.
